Effective SEO strategies for a hosting company

About the project

The client is a data center service provider that helps businesses ensure the reliability and continuity of their IT infrastructure. Since 2013, they have been offering hosting services and rental of dedicated and virtual servers.

Website improvement in 2023

From October to December 2023, we conducted a comprehensive website optimization, improved its metrics, and increased its efficiency.

Technical tasks

We completed several technical tasks, including the removal of FAQ Page microdata (Google dropped it and decided whether to show it), refining all H1 and title tags, fixing language issues, implementing cross-domain canonical tags to avoid duplicates, and providing technical specifications for fixing errors related to /feed and /rss. Plus, tasks were assigned to developers for structural improvements, adding translations to the main pages, and fixing broken hreflang tags.

Link building and content

To attract traffic and potential clients, we analyzed pages and selected keywords. We managed to improve the website’s ranking on the first page of search results for keywords such as cheap VPS, Windows VPS, lowcost vps, rent rdp, vps server rent, dedicated windows and others.

As part of link building, our team selected donors, new keywords, and purchased links according to the plan. We also selected dropped domains to improve the ranking and build additional link mass.

Website optimization in 2024

In 2024, we continued to improve the website and implemented various technical solutions, content, and link building tasks.

Technical tasks

We reviewed and supplemented tasks for developers, including optimizing H1 and title tags, preparing schema product microdata for product pages, and preparing an auto-report and technical specifications for breadcrumbs. To improve SEO, our team identified and corrected incorrect and mixed-up hreflang tags, empty H1 tags, and spammy links.

Link building and content

We continued working on link building, selected new donors, analyzed keywords, and purchased links according to the plan. An important part of the work was identifying and disavowing spammy links, which resulted in additional growth in search rankings. We also created new blog content, optimized existing articles, and prepared SEO texts for service pages.

To improve search result efficiency, we translated all articles in the “Blog” section into English.
